I started to work at Alara in 2004. I trained to make salads as a cover for a colleague who went for a month long holiday to see her family. Then I came to work on a shop floor doing all jobs that were needed (stocking up the shelfs, working at the tills, advising the costumers occasionally) including a service in Alara’s Deli bar.
However, I have always had a strong interest in living a healthy lifestyle, using a healthy diet, natural remedies and supplements before consulting a western medicine. Later, I trained in Naturopathic philosophy and graduated in Natural Therapeutics at the University of Westminster while working at Alara part-time.
I have been helping the costumers to choose their remedies, supplements and foods tailored according to their personal needs and their health goals they hope to achieve from a point of view of caring for the whole person not just addressing the symptoms. It is a role that I enjoy the most.
Another bonus of working at Alara is to be a part of a very friendly, warm multinational and multitalented team of colleagues who bring in a rich mix of traditions and lovely personalities. Alara is an environment of change in one form or other therefore a respect for one-self and others, being open-minded and flexible are important qualities to have and keep developing to maintain a fabulous team to work in for everyone.
